Sama is a Syrian refugee from Damascus. We met her in Al Farah refugee camp in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

“I left Syria three years ago and I’ve been living in the camp for a year. I’ve lost everything I had. There is nothing I can do about the situation, so the only way is to accept it. I lost six members of my family in Syria. My daughter was married but her husband was killed by a bomb. My son is still there and can’t leave [she starts crying]. I decided to leave my country because my daughter was pregnant. I helped deliver the baby. He lives with me now. He is such a sweetheart, I love him very much. I am happy to live here now, I don’t want to go back to Syria. I want my grandson to have a good  life.”
