Three graduates in Gaza have developed a way to mass produce
traditional Palestinian bread for their communities. By using semi-automated methods, Hosni, Karam and Abdullah can recreate the same texture and quality of home-made bread at high quantities. In a place where food insecurity and youth unemployment is dangerously high, their innovative idea will have a positive impact on the livelihoods of families struggling to cope.
The idea came about after Hosni, Karam and Abdullah were
scouted by FundingLab, an organisation supported by Interpal that helps to provide start-ups in Palestine and elsewhere. Along with producing traditional breads, they intend to hire young adults from the local area to work with them. This will help to equip more young people with the skills they need to provide for their families for years to come.
The team need £14,500 to start their venture and are
crowdfunding for it here. With your help and support they can make this project a success. Please donate generously and spread the word.
